When we begin counting odd and even numbers, the very first number is odd number then comes the even number.

divided by 2 they have one left over.

Even Numbers

Numbers that can be taken into sets are even numbers

If a number has its ones digit as 0, 2, 4, 6 and 8, it is an even number.

Thus, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14 etc. are even numbers.

Odd Numbers

Numbers that can not be taken into sets are odd numbers

If a number has its ones digit as 1, 3, 5, 7, or 9, it is an odd number.

Thus, 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15 etc. are odd numbers.
