Use your cabeza ( head) and dive into Spanish words that begin with C.
This one’s a little complicated, due to the fact that the letter C in Spanish has 3 unique pronunciations. There’s a soft C, a tough C and the CH noise.
- The soft C seems like S in English, in words like cerdo ( pig) and cebolla ( onion).
- The tough C seems like K in English, such as in the words calle ( street) and caja (box).
- The CH mix sounds the like in English, like in the words chocolate ( chocolate) and chimenea ( fireplace). (To see our total post about Spanish words that begin with CH, check out this post.)
So enough with the pronunciation suggestions. Let’s get onto the list of Spanish C words.
